Local man comes up with brilliant marketing plan for selling a car. Showing the tow truck.

This is just awesome. When you are buying a 1978 El Camino, you have to already know that you are taking the chance of buying a lemon, but maybe you will get lucky and the seller will tell you.  Like this local man who used photos of his El Camino right behind a tow truck, mostly like the one that dropped it off.

Here’s the main shot:

You also catch a little of the tow truck in this photo.

The car is described, “All original old-lady car, perfect body, no dents or dings, super clean interior, original 83k miles, super cold a/c. This car is in great shape.” To this sellers credit, he said “great shape,” but he never said, “will run.”

What would you Twitter in Atlanta Traffic?

April 29th, 2008

People twitter from everywhere, their bathroom, their jobs and even their car. Even though probably not very safe at times, they are sending it via sms, some of their posts are pretty entertaining.  Here is a little run down of what some people are saying in 140 characters or less while they are sitting in Atlanta traffic. (if you don’t know what Twitter is, go here…)

BlaveFlopata: Stuck in Atlanta traffic. The sign for Freedom Parkway seems particularly ironic today.

murphyssaloon: @mufan96 - I’d rather have a root canal drilled than drive in Atlanta traffic ever again …

jcstarr: OMG I HATE Atlanta traffic.

stshores24: Hoo boy. Stick a fork in it; Atlanta traffic is done. Ah well.

JoeJoyce: Great. Rain and Atlanta traffic. Everbody stop!

Architek1: stuck in Atlanta traffic, 5 lanes are now two… well what can I do. I guess a tweet will do ;)

Octane Coffee - Not just for the hipsters anymore

April 25th, 2008

Yahoo!, one of the worlds largest websites, gives the Atlanta indie coffee shop, Octane Coffee, a nod on their homepage. For the record, Octane is a great coffee shop but I do sometimes feel looked down upon when I pull my black dell laptop out instead of an Apple Macbook and maybe rightfully soo…

11 Alive sets up a Twitter account, turns it into a RSS feed

When I stumbled upon the 11 Alive twitter account my first thought was, “I wonder what 11 Alive has to Twitter about?”.  Well quickly I found out nothing interesting.  What they have done is basically taken Twitter and turned it into a RSS feed. They post all their stories to their Twitter account with links to the articles. Yippee. I guess my question to them is why don’t I just go to your homepage to begin with.

I highly recommend that if you have never checked out the monthly humor/art site, theplug.net, then you do.  The plug is a collection of random posts/pranks/thoughts that are humorous, random and many down right sidesplitting. This month my favorite bits are the “Certificate of Awesomeness” and “The Monocle Trio.”

Damn you AJC expandable ads. Be gone.

No one likes huge advertisements that fly, spin, expand and so forth when they arrive at a website,. But I understand and accept why these ads are put on websites, because I’m getting the content for free. Now most sites I browse limit their hype-annoying ads to the homepage, where most of their traffic is located and therefore where they can get the largest amount of money. But the local newspaper, AJC.com, isn’t so nice and had decided to place large expanding ads on almost every lead section of their site. I go to the homepage, I get a massive expanding ad for tires. I go to sports, I get another massive expanding ad for flowers. I go back to the business section, I get another damn expanding ad for an airline. Urrggg…..it’s retarded. I just wish the AJC could find to make money on their website other than building an ad on every section that feels like an expanding blob is trying to over take my computer. Personally, I don’t like expanding blobs. Actually, I really don’t like expanding blobs. And I especially disliking the ones on the AJC.

Local business busting into v2.0? Beta launch party pending..

Please don’t ask how I got to this site, it’s not relevant and actually kind of embarrassing. Either way, I just wanted to let you know that Tongue and Groove has decided that v1.0 was not good enough and has decided to do a system upgrade to version 2.0. Thank godness, because I thought that version 1.0 was kind of buggy and crappy myself. Now you might ask what will be included in v2.0, first off a crappy website with twinkly letters will definitively be included that hints at the possibility of some random blue light show. But if you want more info they have provided the address so you can go peek in the windows at the forthcoming v2.0. If do you show up, please watch your step because I will be camping out waiting for my invite to the beta launch party.

Like to be Nude? Need a roommate? Look no further.

Searching for an apartment is difficult for anyone, but for a nudist you would think it would be especially hard to find a shared apartment. But apparently thanks to Craigslist, it isn’t. Do a little search in their roommate section and you will find quite of few people who enjoy letting their roommates see them in all their glory. So for those of you who enjoy the clothing optional lifestyle here in Atlanta, here are a few current places to choose from:
