Tonight is East Andrew’s Fifth Anniversary party. Celebration starts at 7pm.  There are free drinks and no cover from 7pm-9pm.  After 9pm, the cover is $5 bucks and the drinks are a lot more expensive than that.  Bands will be playing and party should be going late.

An online fad called Rickrolling seems to be picking up some speed. You might unknowingly have seen this online craze in action yesterday on YouTube when all the front page featured articles were redirected to the Rick Astley Video, Never Going Give Up on You. The essence of Rickrolling is to sending someone a link that with would appear to be an interesting video on YouTube but then actually send them to the Rick Astley video. Sure, you might think that doesn’t sound exciting but about 9 million people would argued differently, including me.

Local band Manchester Orchestra is coming back into town this Thursday with Say Anything to play the Masquerade . Manchester Orchestra has been getting good buzz and exposure over the past year from performances on David Letterman, Conan O’brien and on tour with band such as Kings of Leon and Black Rebel Motorcycle club. The beauty of film festivals is that they supply you with a fair share of random ass films and the Atlanta Film Festival is no different. Here are some of the films that you can see from April 10th-19th during the Atlanta Film Festival. Film plots include: A man who finds peace by karaoking to Sinatra, a short about a little rabbits special fondness for carrots, and a documentary about a town that falls into chaos after a group of bird enthusiasts arrive to try and find a rare woodpecker.

Due to Mother Earth sucking us dry these past 12 months, the annual Dogwood Festival will be held this weekend in Lenox Square. Now I’m not sure if the majesty of Piedmont Park can be replicated in the same place as Urban Outfitters and the Gap but hell it’s worth a shot. I do have to state that the canine competition has been canceled this year due to the new location. So if you go to the Dogwood Festival just to see dogs catching frisbee’s, well I would recommend staying home and turning on Animal Planet.

Justin Townes Earle is coming back to town with all his acoustic folkiness for a couple of shows on 4/6. He will be playing an instore show at Criminal Records at 4pm and then he will follow that up with a night show at Eddie’s Attic.
